sleepy sleepy

So today was Thanksgiving. The kids were up and about at their usual crack of dawn. Hubby and I slept in a little bit, and then headed up to mom and dad's, about 45 minutes north of us. It was a short visit. I went back to work last night for the first time since surgery, and it completely wore me out. I am not allowed to do any lifting yet, so delivering was out of the question, but I was answering phones and making pizzas for about 5 hours. Today I was so tired, I took a nap at mom's, we ate and then headed home almost immediately afterwards. It was a short visit, for sure. Tomorrow night I'll go back to work for a few hours and see how I do. Saturday we have dinner plans with my inlaws and extended inlaw network. It's still up in the air as to whether I'll go along or not.

I am not really surprised how long it's taking me to get back my energy. I did plenty of research online beforehand, and knew to expect low energy levels for the first 6 weeks or so. I could sleep 12 hours a night and then take a 2 hour nap during the day if it were up to me. But, at least I'm out of bed. I was literally in bed for 2 weeks following surgery. I'm also mostly off the painkillers, except for the occasional ibuprofen as needed. Recovery is going as expected, I would guess. I am not scheduled for a checkup until the 16th of Dec, but I'm calling tomorrow to see if I can get permission to go back to work next week, at least part time, and with weight restrictions. We'll see how that goes.
