Is it summer yet?

Really? Is it? I am ready for spring. Summer. Heat. Outside.
This week has been another rough one for our house. My 4 yo was home on Wednesday and Thursday. She went back to school on Friday and my 3 yo and (almost) 2 yo went to MOPS. I had to fill myself with Dayquil to get through it. I woke up Friday with swollen glands and a nasal cavity that has decided to mutiny.
But, as usual, I was SO GLAD I went. We had a great speaker, and a great time with the other moms. And, through a process of events, I have now become the Publicity person on the steering team for MOPS. This is a God thing I'm thinking. I had absolutely no desire to want to be on the board of this group (for once. Usually, I join a group and immediately want in on the planning groups. Not this time). But, for some reason, that's what happened. Richelle brought up to me that the current publicity person is leaving next year, and there will be a spot to fill. Richelle thinks I'll be good at it. And, instead of my first knee jerk reaction of "NO way. I don't want to. I don't know what's involved. Nope." I actually said, "Well, I'll think about it."
And then, at the meeting on Friday, the idea was brought up to me again, and I decided to do it. So here I am. I'll be in charge of putting out the newsletter once a month. Hmmm... wonder where I'll get interesting "mom-type" anecdotes to put in it???? :)

So there's that.
Well, Friday was relatively calm.
Saturday morning we woke to a crib full of vomit and a 2 year old sleeping in the middle of it.
So she got a bath, the sheets got changed, and we commenced our usual routine when the baby's sick. Our routine is this: I'm in the recliner with a towel over my shoulder and across my lap, and the baby is laying across me. I do this for a few hours, and then my hubby takes my spot. Well, Saturday I went grocery shopping (necessary when you have NO food) and James stayed with the baby. Suffice it to say that daddy is apparently a codeword for puke catcher. He had to change her and him 2x in the 3 hours I was gone. The other two children, thankfully, played calmly in their toy room, and sat on the couch, watching 'dad type' shows, while the baby stayed on daddy's chest.
When I got home, I assumed the child holding roll, and hubby went to make lunch and take care fo big kids.
Thanks Lord for such a fantastic husband. Help me to remember to tell him more often. Help him to believe me when I tell him. Or better yet, help him not to be so smug about it. He's great... and he knows it. Urgh. :)
Her fever hovered around 102, going as high as 104 but never below 100. Well, that was Saturday. Sunday was better, because there was (almost) no vomiting, but still, she was SO cranky. Today I took her to the doctor. Poor baby has a double ear infection AGAIN. This time, her left ear drum is thisclose to bursting, it is so filled with fluid. So we're starting on antibiotics again, and hopefully, it'll ALL go away this time.
Please Lord let it all disappear.
I meanwhile, need to go dose up on some cold remedy of some sort, some tylenol, and take a nap. I keep meaning to phase myself out of naps, but it just never happens. I end up lying down for 'just a minute' and open my eyes an hour and half later...
I'm beginning to ramble....
